About us
Our charity was launched in 2001. We raise money for children who are seriously or terminally ill and provide treatment, help and support for both them and their families. Whether the child would like a holiday, a toy, medical treatment or equipment, or even the chance to meet their favourite celebrity, Promise Dreams is dedicated and committed to help.
The Dream Team
Beverley Bird, Charity Manager.
Beverley drives the charity forward, organising a varied events calendar and providing local fundraisers and corporate supporters with unrivalled support.
Amy Johnson joined the Promise Dream Team in September 2005, as Charity Co-ordinator.
Amy's key role within the charity is to realize the dreams, working closely with the families, her caring, compassionate and sensitive nature shine through. The role can be complex as not all children's dreams are straight forward, such as meeting Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear!
Jane Barnett joined the Promise Dreams team September 2006 as our part time Charity Co-ordinator. Jane has an infectious, bubbly personality combined with a determined attitude.
Since joining the charity Jane has taken control of developing relationships with local schools, including the "Pennies for Promise" campaign, which has been a huge success.
Paula Bawa has been with Promise Dreams for 18 months, she joined the team as a part time Charity Co-ordinator. Her calm and soothing manner is a great asset to the office.
During her time with Promise Dreams Paula has developed the corporate side of the
charity and worked on many marketing and sales activities, such as this annual newsletter, Easter and Christmas campaigns and many more.
Paula also supports other team members, helping with the organisation and production of events, arranging and holding her first event this year, The Valentine’s Ball, which was a huge success.
Suresh Bawa & Steve Walker, Trustees.
Suresh and Steve are committed to growing Promise Dreams to fulfil ever-changing goals. They engage themselves at every level from executive decisions to dressing as the charities mascot.

Our extended family
Firstly we would like to say a huge Thank you to Colin Cox of Showcase Systems, Colin has been involved with the charity since 2004 and if we could bottle his enthusiasm we most certainly would! No matter what the job is, from spotlighting tables to building a life-size wardrobe for guests to walk through Colin always makes it happen. Much of his work is behind the scenes but the confidence it gives us when we know that he is involved is just one of the reasons that his support means so much to us.
Next is a man whose voice you will certainly recognise from our events, Mr John Harper of Dragon Leisure. Not content with running a busy events company and hosting a huge range of outside broadcasts for Heart FM.
Our glamorous addition is in the form of Sally Mansell of The Fashion Show Company. Based in the Midlands she has been producing fashion shows nationally for the past eight years; Sally effortlessly manages our fashion show with enthusiasm and professionalism and always ensures every one has a fabulous time.
Our very own Steve Cooper provides styling for the shows; Director of Chester's Hair Salon Tettenhall. Steve and his team give their time to create some truly outstanding hair design adding glamour and sophistication to our models.
We are also helped at every event by a team of volunteers including Agi Balough who designs and creates all of our fabulous centre pieces, ever demur she is an asset we certainly could not be without.
Pictured here are three of our long-term supporters, Sandra Clarke, Louise McPherson and Rachael Malcolm. A huge thank you.
Former Head of Lower School at Newbridge Preparatory school Tricia Ward Jones has joined the charity as a volunteer.
The team work together with dedication and enthusiasm to continue making promises and delivering dreams with the support of the corporate sponsors, Promise Friends and fundraisers.
